Principal Business Planning and Resource Management Analyst
A global manufacturing organisation is seeking a Principal Business Planning and Resource Management Analyst to lead business unit resource planning across budgets, workforce and operational efficiency. The role will partner with senior management, Finance, Human Resources and resource strategy teams to align manpower and financial planning with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business unit and divisional resource planning across budget and manpower requirements.
- Manage resource controllers and ensure divisions remain aligned with business unit strategy and targets.
- Lead planning, forecasting, gap analysis and corrective actions across resource requirements.
- Define and track business unit efficiency, risk, capacity and output measures.
- Analyse historical trends and industry benchmarks to anticipate future manpower and budget needs.
- Identify and lead efficiency improvement initiatives, including outsourcing and resource optimisation programmes.
- Partner with other business units and external consulting firms on cross-functional efficiency initiatives.
- Lead manpower planning and act as a liaison with central resource planning teams.
- Prepare and consolidate business unit manpower reports for divisional and senior management.
- Maintain plan-versus-actual workforce data and support monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Lead budget planning and coordinate with Finance and resource planning teams to ensure alignment with targets.
- Prepare and consolidate business unit budget reports and maintain plan-versus-actual financial data.
- Act as a subject matter expert for indirect purchasing processes, including PR/PO, NDA and MSA procedures.
- Support the management of division-controlled fixed assets.
- Provide data and analysis to support business decisions and resource allocation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
- Equivalent relevant industry experience in project or resource management may be considered.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in project leadership, project management and/or resource planning.
- Proven experience in resource management and workforce planning.
- Understanding of regional and global business drivers, ideally within the automotive or financial sectors.
- Strong understanding of finance and labour-related laws and policies.
- Strong data collection, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
- Exposure to accounting and project-hours tracking systems such as SAP, BPC or Kronos.
- Strong ability to work with senior management and multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
Work Arrangement
- Primarily on-site in Raymond, Ohio.
- One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
