Merck in New Jersey is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead cross-functional teams for CMC development of our biologics pipeline. You will drive upstream process development, technology transfer to clinical and commercial sites, and regulatory filing readiness, while shaping strategy and collaboration across partners.

The role requires a Ph.D. with 6+ years in chemical engineering, bioengineering, or biochemistry, with a strong publication record and demonstrated leadership in bioprocess

Competenze

• Ph.D. required with 6+ years industry experience in chemical engineering, bioengineering, biochemistry or related field.
• Proven mentoring and leadership of junior scientists.
• Experience in CHO upstream process development and downstream / analytics.
• Hands-on experience with cell culture bioreactors including bench- and pilot-scale.
• Strong knowledge of DOE statistics and computational fluid dynamics.

Mansioni

• Lead biologic upstream process development for early and commercial processes.
• Provide technical direction for process development, characterization, and regulatory filing activities.
• Advance upstream platform process strategy and champion process improvements.
• Initiate collaborations to assess new technologies and industry strategies.
• Collaborate with academia, industry partners, and vendors to drive innovation.
