Base pay range

$180,000.00/yr - $240,000.00/yr

Location: US Remote, must travel 25% per year (office located in Boston)

As a Principal Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing robust applications while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You will leverage your expertise to create scalable, serverless architectures that drive our cybersecurity solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Development: Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using technologies like AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and Redshift, while ensuring high performance and reliability.
• DevOps Implementation: Lead efforts in building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure to ensure smooth integration and deployment of applications.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to gather requirements and implement features that enhance user experience and security posture.
• Event-Driven Architecture: Implement microservices and event-driven architectures to enhance scalability and maintainability of applications.
• Mentorship: Act as a technical mentor to junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
• Technical Leadership: Collaborate with leadership to set the technical direction for the team while balancing speed, innovation, and quality.

Must Have Skills

• Open to any backend languages (Python is preference), once you have built backend systems at scale.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven systems.
• Experience with cloud architecture, preferably AWS or GCP.
• Proven experience in building out DevOps frameworks, not just using existing tools.
• Background in architectural design for scalable applications.
• A hunger for growth and the desire to work in a low-ego environment.

Preferred Skills

• Cybersecurity experience, ideally in a startup environment.
• Experience with SIEMs and GraphDBs.
• Experience collaborating with product and design to contribute to user-centric applications.
• Travel readiness for potential client engagements or team retreats.
