Salary: INR 70-75 Lacs per annum

Role Overview:
Principal Backend Engineer
Location: India, Full-time, Remote

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer with 10-15 years of experience who brings strong technical expertise in Node.js, Python, and/or Golang, along with a passion for product ownership. This role involves leading the full product lifecycle, from understanding customer pain points and analyzing market trends to defining and delivering impactful solutions.

As a senior leader, you'll focus on product strategy, architecture, and iteration, with AI-driven coding agents handling much of the implementation. Your role will be a mix of architect, product thinker, and customer advocate, ensuring backend capabilities align with business goals and deliver value.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Architecture & Technical Strategy: Design scalable backend systems using Node.js, Python, and/or Golang; architect platforms for large data volumes with cost efficiency; guide development with AI automation; focus on architecture, validation, and reliability.
• Own Product Capabilities End-to-End: Translate vision into technical execution; engage with customers; research market and competitors; define features and roadmaps; collaborate across teams; iterate based on feedback.
• Champion Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging tech; use analytics to refine products; foster a culture of experimentation and agility.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field
• 10-15 years in software engineering with backend expertise
• Proficient in Node.js, Python, Golang, and comfortable with TypeScript
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with cloud data warehouses like BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks
• Proven experience in software architecture and product delivery
• Hands-on with AI-powered development tools (must)
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
