Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Cloud Computing Engineer Principal to lead Azure-based cloud architecture, security, and DevOps for VA healthcare systems. Qualifications

• Azure-based cloud design, deployment, and management experience.
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability, scalable cloud architectures.
• Expertise in core Azure services (VMs, Blob Storage, SQL, VNet, Functions, Entra ID, ARM, Monitor, DNS).
• Experience with Azure security practices (RBAC, DDoS, WAF).
• Proficiency with CI/CD tooling and IaC practices.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST, GDPR, PCI DSS compliance.
• Scripting in Python/PowerShell/Bash/NodeJS for automation.
• Mentoring engineers and leading cloud governance.

Responsibilities

• Create data flow diagrams, cloud diagrams, transition diagrams, and high-level architecture diagrams for cloud infrastructure, applications, and systems.
• Design, develop, deploy, and operate automation technologies for CI/CD.
• Manage and control permissions in the cloud service provider for each cloud application, storage, and service.
• Implement, manage, and design monitoring capabilities for cloud architecture and cloud-hosted systems and applications.
• Provide customer-focused support for VA Enterprise Cloud environments, including setup and provisioning.
• Provide Cloud support services for VAEC Azure GovCloud environments, ensuring VIP development and documentation.
• Adopt a DevOps mindset with CI/CD tooling and practices.
• Provide Cloud security provider documentation.
• Design VAEC/cloud-hosted solutions and address cloud-readiness gaps.
