Job summary

Draper seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to design avionics hardware for flight-critical systems in Cambridge, MA. You will architect hardware, simulate designs, and guide ECAD layouts, while ensuring signal and power integrity across multi-card avionics systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • U.S. government security clearance required or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Translate project requirements into hardware architectures with cross-functional teams.
  • Build, debug, and test prototypes and deliverables.
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation and provide ongoing support.
  • Research and enable innovative avionics solutions for complex systems.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Identify technical risks and formulate mitigation strategies; manage cross-functional tasks.
