Job summary

Parallax Space in Redondo Beach, CA, is seeking a Principal Avionics Engineer to architect and own our core avionics offerings for space vehicles. You will define the avionics product line that can be configured across spacecraft buses, hosted payloads, and mission systems, including command and data handling, flight computing, power distribution and control, and spacecraft networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Aerospace Engineering.
• 12+ years avionics or high-rel electronics experience.
• Experience architecting avionics systems end-to-end.
• Deep experience with flight computing and C&DH.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Architect core avionics offerings and product line.
• Define flight computers, C&DH, power distribution and interfaces.
• Lead analog, digital, and power electronics design.
• Oversee schematic capture, PCB layout, and validation.
• Lead environmental qualification and flight readiness reviews.
• Mentor engineers and build a scalable team.
• Ensure producibility and repeatable production processes.
