Position Title: Principal Automation Engineer

Location: Remote (U.S. Based)

Level: Principal

Clearance: Ability to obtain a clearance preferred

Overview

We're seeking a Principal Automation Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative automation and systems solutions in support of complex government and commercial programs. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who is capable of building efficient, scalable, and secure digital workflows that support mission-critical operations.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in automation technologies, system integration, and low-code/no-code platforms, with a deep understanding of how to align technical solutions with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of workflow automation and system integration solutions
  • Architect scalable, secure, and compliant digital tools that align with client requirements and mission objectives
  • Evaluate and implement enterprise-grade platforms and technologies to enhance program delivery
  • Develop custom APIs, automations, dashboards, and scripts to optimize technical workflows
  • Work directly with client teams to gather requirements, define use cases, and deliver effective solutions
  • Rapidly prototype and scale solutions across diverse government and commercial environments
  • Promote best practices in automation, data integration, and digital transformation within project teams

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of engineering experience with a focus on automation, systems integration, or digital transformation
  • Strong knowledge of low-code/no-code tools (e.g., Retool, Zapier, Make.com, Airtable)
  • Experience with cloud environments and common enterprise platforms
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages
  • Familiarity with data security, compliance, and systems architecture in a regulated environment
  • Experience working in or supporting federal government or public sector clients
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical ideas into actionable solutions
  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a security clearance preferred
