A company seeks a Principal Attorney in Juno Beach, Florida, to advise on environmental, land use, zoning, development, and regulatory matters. The attorney will support large infrastructure projects involving generation, transmission, and distribution facilities, with particular emphasis on Florida permitting and compliance. Duties
- Provide written and oral legal advice concerning environmental, development, land use, zoning, permitting, and regulatory matters.
- Advise on environmental permitting and compliance under Florida and federal environmental laws and regulations.
- Support developers, builders, and environmental professionals through licensing and permitting processes for large infrastructure projects.
- Represent and advise on land use, zoning, development, and related approval matters before local, state, and federal authorities.
- Handle environmental compliance and enforcement matters affecting company operations and projects.
- Participate in administrative and quasi-judicial proceedings involving permitting, development, licensing, and other governmental approvals.
- Anticipate legal risks and provide guidance designed to protect the organization and facilitate compliant project development.
- Manage legal matters efficiently, support budget compliance, and seek to minimize reliance on outside counsel.
- Ensure potentially material legal issues are appropriately communicated to senior leadership.
- Perform other related legal duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in development, environmental, land use, zoning, or related legal matters.
- Experience may include work in private practice, government, an in-house legal department, a nonprofit organization, or another relevant setting.
- Experience with Florida and federal environmental permitting and compliance matters.
- Experience representing or advising developers and builders on land use, zoning, development, or governmental approval matters.
- Administrative law experience, including quasi-judicial proceedings, administrative legal challenges, or administrative hearings, is valuable.
- Ability to provide timely, practical, and high-quality legal services on complex matters with moderate supervision.
Education
- Juris Doctor degree.
- Bachelor's degree.
- High school diploma or GED.

- Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
