Job summary

EOS IT Solutions in Buffalo is seeking a Principal Architect with deep expertise in perimeter/DMZ architectures to lead target-state design, standards, and roadmaps for secure exposure across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will drive Zero Trust-aligned designs, governance, and self-service enablement while partnering with Cloud, Network, Security, and Middleware teams to deliver scalable, policy-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in network/security architecture.
• Expertise in cloud networking and perimeter technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong knowledge of WAF, NGFW, API gateways, service mesh, and identity.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code and policy-as-code.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve target-state perimeter/DMZ architectures.
• Develop segmentation and secure ingress/egress patterns for hybrid/multi-cloud.
• Lead the architectural roadmap aligning Cloud and Middleware capabilities.
• Establish reference architectures and automation-first patterns.
• Drive Zero Trust-aligned designs, security guardrails, and compliance.
• Partner with Cloud, Network, Security, and Middleware teams to deliver self-service and frictionless developer enablement.
• Guide architectural governance, design reviews, and PoC implementations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

We’re seeking a Principal Architect with deep expertise in Perimeter/DMZ architectures, network segmentation, and secure ingress/egress across on-premises and cloud environments. This leader will drive the target-state design, standards, and roadmap for perimeter security and service exposure while enabling end-to-end self-service capabilities.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code and policy-as-code.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder leadership.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, cloud architect certs.
• Experience with developer self-service platforms.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust, API security, and observability.

Pay Range

$170,000-$200,000 USD
