Principal Architect – Java, AWS & Agentic AI

Location: Mountain View, CA

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days per week in office

Experience: 15+ years

• 15+ years of software engineering or architecture experience
• Deep hands‑on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloudd
• Strong experience with AWS, microservices, distributed systems, and event‑driven architecturee
• Production experience with Kubernetes, preferably Amazon EKS
• Proven hands‑on experience building and deploying agentic AI or LLM‑based solutionss
• Experience with RAG, agent frameworks, tool integration, evaluation, and AI‑assisted engineeringg
• Strong mentoring, technical leadership, and architecture governance experience
• Must be able to work from the Mountain View office three days per weekk

About the Role

Tenarai is expanding its strategic engineering partnership with a leading US‑based enterprise client, supporting globally distributed engineering teams across the US, Latin America, and India. As the Enterprise Architect, you will serve as the horizontal technical authority and innovation leader across the engagement. You will own architecture quality, engineering standards, AI‑led innovation, technical capability development, senior hiring, and mentoring across multiple engineering teams.

This role reports to the Account Delivery Leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Own architecture standards, design quality, engineering practices, and technical alignment across the engagement.
• Partner with client architects and engineering leaders on technology strategy and solution design.
• Identify and deliver agentic AI and automation use cases from prototype through production adoption.
• Improve engineering productivity through AI‑assisted development, reusable frameworks, automation, and golden paths.
• Mentor senior engineers and technical leads across the US, Latin America, and India.
• Lead technical guilds, design reviews, architecture office hours, and structured upskilling programs.
• Serve as a technical bar‑raiser for senior engineering and leadership interviews.
• Own the technical skills roadmap and represent architecture and innovation during business reviews.

Remain hands‑on with code reviews, technical prototypes, and solution validation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Strong AWS architecture experience with scalable, secure, and reliable cloud‑native systems.
• Production Kubernetes or EKS experience.
• Hands‑on experience with agentic AI, LLM applications, RAG pipelines, agent orchestration, tool use, evaluation, and monitoring.
• Proven experience improving engineering productivity through automation, AI‑assisted development, reusable tools, or frameworks.
• Strong experience mentoring engineers and building technical communities or training programs.
• Ability to influence large distributed teams without direct authority.
• Strong communication skills and executive presence.

Ability to work from Mountain View, CA three days per week.
