The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Applied AI Architect team partners with customers to design and build scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures and solutions. AWS Applied AI Architects collaborate with AWS Sales and other AWS teams to help address customer business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.

The Role

The AWS Principal Applied AI Architect partners with customers to design and build scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures and solutions. They collaborate with AWS Sales and other teams to help address business challenges and promote AWS service adoption.

As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and advise on strategies for building, migrating, and scaling generative AI & ML workloads in the cloud. You’ll drive successful business outcomes through education, training, and solution design.

You will utilize ML and Generative AI tools, such as Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q, and others, to design, evangelize, and implement state-of-the-art solutions for complex problems. You’ll develop industry-specific generative AI solutions involving large-scale data processing and modeling, define requirements, create designs, implement code, and support deployed solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and execute strategies to build deep adoption of AWS solutions within your customer base, mobilizing AWS resources and working with partner networks. Travel is primarily regional, estimated at 15-20%.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and migrate applications and services on AWS.
• Engage directly with customers to understand their business problems and assist in implementing their AI/ML ecosystems.
• Educate customers on AWS value propositions and showcase potential solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions and design exercises to create solutions built on AWS, ensuring successful cloud deployment.
• Contribute to AWS publications, whitepapers, workshops, demos, and proofs of concept.
• Build relationships with senior technical stakeholders within customer organizations to enable cloud advocacy.
• Share best practices within the AWS Architect community.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
• Experience developing technology solutions and guiding IT transformations to the cloud.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives.
• Hands-on experience architecting and deploying full-stack generative AI workloads in production.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of distributed systems design, automation, workflow management, and whiteboarding skills.
• Experience migrating and modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.
• PhD or Master’s in Computer Science with a focus on AI/ML.
