Job summary

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of embedded software development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, Ethernet firmware, RTOS, and higher‑layer protocols.
  • Familiar with Ethernet network systems, switches, and PHY configuration.
  • Initial exposure to TSN in Ethernet networks.
  • Proven problem‑solving and customer-facing relationship skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Communications, CS, or related field.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer application support and system solutions for Automotive Ethernet Switch and PHY products, including on‑site support.
  • Update Ethernet devices to customer configurations and firmware; AI usage experience appreciated.
  • Lead customer enablement and tool development for switch functions and customized applications.
  • Create customer-facing technical documents such as application notes and FAQs.
  • Develop reference designs and demonstrators in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Conduct trainings and workshops with manufacturers and their suppliers in China.
  • Contribute to local thought leadership through POC and design‑in projects, conferences, and articles.

In‑Vehicle Networking is one of the fastest growing product lines within NXP. The systems and applications team provides technical support and solutions to our customers in Automotive and increasingly other domains like Industrial and Robotics. We work closely with our worldwide experts, maintain close relation with our development groups, and team up with regional sales and marketing to serve worldwide customers in common lab activities. Responsibilities
  • Responsible for customer application support activities and system solutions for Automotive Ethernet Switch and PHY products, especially on software/system aspect, within customer program, including on‑site support.
  • Update our Ethernet communication devices to customer configuration, firmware code. Experience in coding by usage of AI is appreciated.
  • Lead customer enablement / configuration tool development meaning update for generic switch functions and customized application.
  • Create customer facing technical documents such as application notes, white papers, FAQs, product training, etc.
  • Initiate and lead the development of reference designs and product or system solution demonstrators in cooperation with other application teams, within NXP, and external 3rd parties.
  • Perform trainings and workshops with manufacturers and their electronic subsystem suppliers in China.
  • Contribute to China local thought leadership through customer POC and design‑in project, conferences, trade fairs, articles, etc.
Requirements
  • 7‑10 years of experience embedded software development.
  • Profound software system knowledge and working with microcontrollers, Ethernet firmware, Real‑time Operating System, Higher‑layer Protocols.
  • General knowledge of Ethernet network systems, Ethernet switches and physical layer products configuration.
  • First experience in time synchronization, TSN protocols in Ethernet networks.
  • Proven problem‑solution capabilities, e.g. in Automotive, Robotics domain.
  • Talent to build strong relationships both to internal and external customers.
  • Degree in Electronics, Communications, Computer Science, or similar.
  • Fluent in English.
