Job summary

Shippo is seeking a Principal Product Manager to own the end-to-end platform, including developer experience, MCP, SDKs, and docs. You will shape how APIs are designed and how carriers are integrated, collaborating with product, engineering, and GTM teams.

This role requires 8+ years in product management, a track record in API-first products, and a passion for developer tooling. Location-flexible US remote-first environment with Shippos Everywhere.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in product management with developer-facing or API-first products.
• Experience setting technical standards adopted by other teams.
• Deep understanding of API design, developer experience, and SDK strategy.

Responsibilities

• Own the API platform roadmap including label creation, MCP, SDKs, and docs.
• Define and evolve MCP as a product alongside other integration paths.
• Set platform standards for API surface and related services.
• Define testing expectations for integrations across carriers.
• Partner with engineering on architecture and long-term investments.
• Shape developer experience: onboarding, docs quality, SDK coverage, MCP.
• Represent platform in cross-team planning to maintain consistency.
• Engage with developers and mid-market customers to identify friction.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other PMs on the platform.
