Job summary

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) is seeking a Principal Android Engineer to lead architecture for our Android SDK and own key mobile stack components. This principal-level IC role emphasizes deep technical ownership, cross-functional leadership, and setting architectural direction for our platform.

You will mentor developers, participate in hiring, and drive scalable, testable solutions while collaborating with product managers and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin with concurrency concepts.
• Experience with Android architectures such as MVC, MVVM, VIPER.
• Experience delivering Android apps and SDKs.
• Experience consuming and/or designing REST APIs.
• CI/CD and test-driven development (TDD) knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers to understand business directions and collaborate with stakeholders to develop project plans.
• Own a significant component of the mobile technical stack at CMT.
• Train, guide, and mentor other developers on development procedures and methods.
• Participate in the hiring process.
• Design and architect maintainable, scalable, reliable, and testable solutions.
