Job summary

Amgen seeks a Principal Anaplan Architect to drive integrated financial planning solutions across global teams. You will define architectural principles, lead model building, and partner with Product Owner and SMEs to shape rollout in Finance, R&D, and Global Commercial Operations.

Candidates bring proven Anaplan implementation experience, Anaplan certification, and strong DevOps/Agile exposure with Jira/Confluence.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience implementing and managing multiple Anaplan Planning solutions.
  • Experience with Scenario planning and AI/ML modeling a plus.
  • Anaplan Certified Solution Architect or Master Anaplanner.
  • Experience in DevOps teams using Agile tools like Jira.
  • Strong learning agility, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement architectural principles and standards for Anaplan across models.
  • Lead model building, module validation, security, and workflow management.
  • Collaborate with Product Owner and SMEs to plan focus and rollout.

Principal Anaplan Architect
What You Will Do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role, you will drive innovation in a highly integrated Financial Planning landscape. You will be an integral member of a truly dynamic and exciting Product Team that will implement and own groundbreaking solutions supporting global professionals in Amgen's Finance, Research and Development, and Global Commercial Operations. This position requires you to work a later shift and may be assigned a second or third shift schedule. Candidates must be willing and able to work during evening or night shifts, as required based on business requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Define and implement architectural principles and standards consistent with the industry, across Anaplan models
  • Lead model building activities, including build and validation of modules and calculations, security and workflow management, performance optimization etc.
  • Work directly with Product Owner and SMEs to understand, prioritize and advise on application focus and rollout
  • Co-innovate with Amgen's Finance team by planning and managing Technology roadmaps
  • Function as a knowledge resource for less experienced team members
  • Serve as lead for operational support in a DevOps model for the deployed Anaplan solutions
  • Own and maintain SDLC documentation using Agile tools such as Confluence

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Masters degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associates degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
  • Proven experience of implementing and managing multiple Anaplan Planning solutions. Experience in Scenario planning and AI/ML modeling a plus.
  • Anaplan Certified Solution Architect or Master Anaplanner.
  • Experience working in DevOps teams, utilizing agile tools like Jira.
  • Possesses strong learning agility and analytical thinking with solid attention to detail.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and technical leadership, including a natural ability to breakdown and convey complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
  • Foster a culture of innovation to evaluate and introduce new technologies that will allow business partners to meet their objectives.
  • Experience with cloud ETL tools (e.g., Databricks) and PowerBI a plus.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
