Job description

Job Title: AI Engineer

Location: Round Rock, TX (Onsite)

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Pay Rate: $70/hr - $85/hr

Role Overview

This position is for an AI Engineer within the Security Resiliency Organization. The role requires a software engineer with a background in security harness engineering and proven experience in developing AI solutions with enterprise scalability. The candidate will design, build, and deploy AI‑powered capabilities across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and serve as a subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI‑powered capabilities across the SDLC, including Spec Driven Development workflows and assurance of AI‑generated code.
• Develop SDLC skills and agent tooling for automated security checks such as design review, dependency and supply‑chain analysis, and release audit support.
• Integrate solutions with enterprise systems like source control, CI/CD, ticketing, and security scanning through APIs and webhooks.
• Partner with engineering, security, product, and leadership stakeholders to define requirements, evaluate trade‑offs, and support solution adoption.
• Apply sound architecture and systems design practices, including well‑defined service boundaries, appropriate data models, secure defaults, and extensibility.
• Serve as a technical consultant to leaders in the IT organization and functional user groups.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying AI‑based solutions in production environments with measurable impact.
• Experience with enterprise scalability, particularly in larger company settings.
• Background in security harness engineering.
• Hands‑on AI engineering experience.
• Experience developing or deploying applications with large‑scale impact.
• Experience integrating with multiple systems and platforms (REST/GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines, cloud services, enterprise tooling).
• Ability to work independently across the full delivery lifecycle from requirements analysis to deployment with accountability for results.

Technical Skills

• Strong programming proficiency in languages such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Go, with adherence to software engineering best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with modern AI/LLM development, including context engineering, agentic system design, context window management, and evaluation of AI system quality.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, systems design, API design, and event‑driven patterns.
• Working knowledge of secure development practices and designing solutions that meet enterprise security and compliance requirements.

Education

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying AI within a security domain such as application security, DevSecOps, code analysis, or software supply‑chain security.
• Familiarity with secure‑by‑design principles and frameworks like OWASP or NIST SSDF.
• Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol), building agent skills, or extending AI coding assistants.
• Experience with AI evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and LLMOps in production.
