HITT Contracting Inc. seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead AI-native software development across the organization, partnering with project teams and field staff to deliver reliable, high-velocity applications.

You will architect patterns, set tooling standards, and mentor engineers to operate at the frontier of AI-assisted development. The role emphasizes building from a blank page, defining new patterns, and delivering measurable value on real jobsites and offices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering, including staff/principal level.
• Expert hands-on fluency with AI-assisted and agentic development tools.
• Track record shipping production software with modern stacks and CI/CD.
• Mentor engineers and lead architectural initiatives across teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build HITT’s first AI-native applications and agentic workflows end to end.
• Define technical patterns for agentic development, orchestration, tooling and integrations.
• Establish evaluation, testing, and observability practices for trustworthy AI software.
• Prototype rapidly and harden winners into reliable products used on jobsites.
• Mentor and recruit engineers; promote AI-enabled development practices.
• Deliver in lean, agile teams with fast feedback and continuous delivery.
