Job summary

Amazon Scienceis seeking a Principal Applied Scientist to advance AI for AWS data center problems, from bespoke computer vision models to smart retrieval and reducing hallucinations, ensuring latency and performance are optimized. You will own the lifecycle from research through production deployment and collaborate with software teams to ship impactful capabilities.

Qualifications

• PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Statistics or in a highly quantitative field.
• Strong Problem solving ability.
• Good skills in Python (or similar language).
• Strong communication and data presentation skills.
• Proven track record of delivery.

Responsibilities

• Work backwards from real problems and partner with software teams to deliver solutions.
• Select, train and evolve computer vision models for AWS infrastructure in data centers.
• Build smart retrieval algorithms and reduce model hallucination for safety-critical outcomes.
• Improve latency and performance of the generative AI service and keep knowledge current.
• Own the full lifecycle from research to production deployment.
