Owl.co is building applied AI systems for high-stakes, real-world decisions, with production deployments in North America. We seek a Principal Software Engineer to guide technical strategy, lead complex challenges, and drive integration of AI models into scalable features.

Offices in New York City and Toronto require 5 days onsite weekly. You’ll partner with product leadership, mentor engineers, and shape a roadmap to deliver massive value while ensuring auditability and bias mitigation in

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software development with Staff/Principal level
• Experience designing deploying and scaling AI/ML systems in production
• Hands-on experience with SFT and RL techniques for LLMs
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or similar
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerized microservices
• Ability to lead architecture decisions and mentor engineers
• Experience building software for highly regulated industries with auditability and bias considerations

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end system architecture for scalable, secure data processing.
• Lead integration of applied AI/ML models in production.
• Define long-term technical roadmap with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers and set coding and design standards.
• Tackle latency, inference, and data pipeline challenges.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve speed and reliability.
