Intuit, Inc. seeks a Principal Software Engineer to shape how AI transforms everyday work.

You will lead technical strategy and engineering of shared capabilities that help employees find trusted information, make informed decisions, and complete complex workflows through collaboration with AI agents. As a senior individual contributor, you will turn ambiguous business problems into reliable production systems.

Qualifications

15+ years of software engineering experience with large enterprise systems and distributed architectures.
Hands-on AI deployment experience, including language-model APIs and agent orchestration.
Strong programming and system-design skills in Python, Java, TypeScript or similar.

Responsibilities

Define the multiyear architecture and roadmap for AI-powered work.
Lead engineering for permission-aware contexts, agent orchestration, and integration.
Own difficult production problems, provide reference implementations and reviews.
Design dependable human–AI collaboration with clear agent workflows and approvals.
Set production quality standards, monitoring, and cost-aware practices.
Partner with product managers to measure improvements in workflows and efficiency.
Mentor senior engineers and align teams on architecture decisions.
