Qualifications

• BS in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of professional software development, with large-scale distributed systems experience.
• Broad depth in Android client architecture (Kotlin/Java) and cloud integration (REST, gRPC, streaming).
• Demonstrated cross-functional technical leadership across engineering orgs.

Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end architecture for GM’s In-Vehicle AI Assistant platform across Android and cloud services.
• Drive cross-functional technical strategy with Cloud AI/ML, UX, Product, Security, and Data teams.
• Architect the hybrid edge-cloud layer balancing latency, bandwidth, cost, and offline reliability.
• Establish standards and APIs for high-performance client-server communication (gRPC, streaming).
• Evaluate AI/ML frameworks and LLM orchestration for the in-cabin ecosystem.
• Unblock architectural dependencies and resolve trade-offs in reliability, privacy, and streaming.
• Lead platform-wide testing, telemetry, and performance evaluation pipelines.
• Mentor Staff and Senior engineers to grow architectural excellence.
