Job summary

Meta Reality Labs seeks a principal-level AI Systems Engineer to define the hardware architecture strategy for next-generation AI-accelerated computing systems powering AR/VR products. Lead long-term silicon and systems roadmap for on-device AI workloads across wearables and spatial computing platforms.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of hardware systems architecture experience.
• Experience designing AI inference or training SoC architectures.
• Ability to model performance and evaluate trade-offs.
• Proven track record influencing silicon strategy.

Responsibilities

• Define and own multi-year architectural roadmap for AI compute subsystems across hardware product lines.
• Lead system-level architecture exploration for AI inference and training accelerators, including memory hierarchy design and interconnect topology.
• Drive cross-functional alignment across silicon engineering, firmware, software, and product teams to translate AI workload requirements into hardware specs.
• Develop architectural models, simulators, and analytic frameworks to evaluate design tradeoffs at the system level.
• Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks across the AI compute stack.
• Establish technical direction for AI hardware platform decisions, including custom silicon vs third-party IP.
• Partner with ML researchers and compiler teams to co-design hardware-software interfaces.
• Represent hardware architecture in executive reviews with architecture records and system specs.
• Mentor engineers across hardware architecture and systems engineering.
