Job summary
Atlassian is seeking a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to lead AI/ML powered solutions for customers in the United States and beyond. You will partner with product, engineering and design to deploy innovative AI workflows that scale across industries, balancing technical excellence with business impact.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of backend software development experience.
- 5+ years delivering AI/ML solutions in production.
- Experience as a founding or forward-deployed engineer in 0-to-1 product development.
- Deep expertise in applied AI/ML, including generative AI and LLMs.
- Strong communication and collaboration, with cross-functional influence.
- Experience with AI risk assessment, data privacy (GDPR).
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML‑powered solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Analyze complex datasets to extract insights and inform product direction.
- Champion AI‑augmented workflow automation within customer environments.
- Oversee end-to-end deployment of AI solutions into production.
- Navigate AI risk, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
