Job summary

Innovaccer is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to design and build the most complex components of our platform, including backend services, data pipelines, and AI-powered features. You will own major systems architecture, mentor engineers, and ensure production reliability with robust security and compliance.

This is a builder's role that combines hands-on coding with strategic leadership, collaboration with product and clinical teams, and a focus on scalable, cost-aware solutions for healthcare

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping large-scale production systems.
• Hands-on coding in Python/Java/Go daily.
• Experience integrating AI/ML into products and operating them in production.
• Strong cloud and containerization expertise; familiar with healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship backend services, APIs, and data pipelines with production-grade code.
• Own technical architecture for major systems focusing on scalability, performance, security, and cost.
• Lead by example, review code, and mentor senior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards (HIPAA, GDPR) and secure, observable systems.
• Collaborate with product, clinical, and engineering teams to turn real-world needs into solid designs.
• Evaluate technologies and tooling to balance capability, cost, risk, and time-to-value.
