Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Software Developer / DevOps Architect to advance the FAA TFDM platform, focusing on AI-enabled development, GitOps pipelines, and containerized architectures. Lead the design, development, and deployment using OpenShift/Kubernetes and modern DevOps practices within a large federal program.

Remote work is possible; preference for candidates who can work 3 days per week onsite in Gaithersburg, MD; Atlantic City, NJ; or Eagan, MN.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, engineering, or related technical discipline.
Experience with full lifecycle development and 12+ years total; Agile experience.
Experience with AI-Leveraged Development (Claude Code, multi-agent orchestration, RAG, etc.)
Public Trust clearance eligibility and US citizenship or permanent resident status.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, develop, and implement next-generation application using best practices in AI-enabled DevOps/CI/CD, including GitLab/ArgoCD, Docker, and OpenShift/Kubernetes.
Provide architectural oversight and mentoring across integration, testing, security, and deployment activities.
Lead customer integration for enterprise CI/CD architecture and modernize TFDM platform.
Communicate complex technical concepts to leadership and stakeholders; handle defect investigations across CI/CD, frontend, and backend components.
