Job summary

Tenstorrent is seeking an experienced microarchitect to push AI compute performance. You will shape the CPU microarchitecture, optimize for performance, power, and area, and work across hardware and software teams.

Hybrid role across Toronto, Austin, or Santa Clara. We value deep experience in RISC-V, AI workloads, and collaboration with compiler teams to extend ISA with practical instructions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of CPU performance modeling and microarchitecture design.
  • Deep familiarity with AI workloads and LLM bottlenecks.
  • Experience designing and validating custom ISA extensions.
  • Familiarity with open-source RISC-V cores and AI workflow experience.

Responsibilities

  • Dissect cutting-edge AI workloads to identify execution bottlenecks and translate insights into CPU performance requirements.
  • Drive the microarchitecture of custom RISC-V CPU cores, balancing Performance, Power, and Area targets.
  • Design and implement custom instructions that unlock performance gains without sacrificing compiler programmability.
  • Collaborate across compiler, software, and hardware teams to co-design Tenstorrent’s next-generation AI compute architecture.
