Job summary

AI Fund in Mountain View seeks a technically deep Principal Builder who applies rigorous business judgment to transformational AI ideas. You will evaluate bets with elite founders and corporate partners, guiding early exploration through a 12-week Build.

You will recruit the founder, shape a strong thesis, and oversee product, user, and go-to-market guidance, deciding which ventures advance to formation and where to invest post-Build.

Qualifications

• Technical ability with frontier AI and hands-on coding.
• Experience as engineer, product manager, or founder including scrappy 0-to-1 work.
• Track record working with elite founders and senior executives with mutual respect.
• Ability to communicate with rigor, persuade through influence, and carry strong opinions.
• STEM or research degree from a top research university, or equivalent background.

Responsibilities

• Identify, shape, and validate new AI startup ideas with partners and founders.
• Build business cases covering market sizing, business model, go-to-market plans.
• Decide which ideas to invest in based on market opportunity and AI uniqueness.
• Help recruit the founder and assemble the Build team.
• Guide product, user, and go-to-market activities during the 12-week Build.
• Support follow-on investment decisions and portfolio support.
