Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a leading enterprise software innovator to hire a Principal Agent Experience Designer in the United States. This role defines how AI agents interact with tools, systems, and other agents, establishing an AX discipline beyond traditional UX.

You will mentor designers, shape agent-ready experiences, and influence product strategy while aligning with risk, observability, and cost goals across the org.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in UX, product design or related field progressing to principal-level work.
• Experience designing complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
• Ability to design structure and logic across systems, not just interfaces.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with product, engineering and research.
• Proficiency with modern design and AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and design the machine-operable interface layer for AI agents.
• Invent AX design artifacts, governance, and evaluation criteria.
• Own end-to-end AX design lifecycle across modeling to versioning.
• Establish operability gates for agent workflows (safety, observability, cost).
• Develop evaluation frameworks, golden tasks, and regression suites.
• Design experiences across interactive, supervised, and autonomous modes.
• Create dual-layer journey maps for human and agent operations.
• Define trust and delegation models for human/AI interaction.
• Champion dual legibility for human and AI understanding.
• Influence product strategy and AX readiness across the org.
• Establish AX design standards and reusable patterns.
• Contribute to design system with agent-facing components and semantics.
• Partner with PM, Engineering, AI/ML, Research to ensure viability.
• Mentor designers in semantic architecture and systems-oriented design.
