Deltek Talent Management seeks a Principal Acq Assoc for a full-time, Colorado Springs assignment. You will provide senior-level program management support to United States Space Force across planning, execution, sustainment, and portfolio integration.

Required are 12+ years in program and acquisition management, direct Space Force/DoD experience, and an Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred). Proficiency with PMRT, CCaR, SMART, TMT, SharePoint, and Power BI is highly desired.

Job Description

Duties: Provide senior-level program management support to United States Space Force. Support spans program planning and execution, space systems sustainment, lifecycle acquisition, portfolio integration, financial management, and senior-leader decision support.

Acquisition Program Management
  • Integrate cost, schedule, technical performance, and programmatic information to assess program execution and acquisition requirements.
  • Support Government program managers in the planning and execution of acquisition, modification, modernization, and sustainment activities throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Develop and coordinate acquisition strategies, decision papers, executive briefings, program reviews, and other acquisition documentation.
  • Prepare, review, compile, and staff acquisition documentation supporting contract actions, program reviews, milestone activities, and senior acquisition decisions.
  • Assess program health and executability, identify cost, schedule, technical, and acquisition risks, and provide recommendations to the Government project officers.
  • Support contracting actions by preparing and reviewing statements of work, performance work statements, and supporting documentation for Government review and approval.
  • Provide analytical support to independent Government cost estimate development, market research, and source selection activities as requested by the Government.
  • Support Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) activities, including surveillance documentation, deliverable review, and contractor performance reporting.
  • Consolidate acquisition and sustainment activities across multiple programs and projects to provide Government leadership visibility into milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource requirements.
  • Maintain acquisition forecasts covering current and future contract actions, milestones, and key decision points; identify disconnects, deficiencies, and emerging execution risks.
  • Support space weapon-system sustainment and modernization, including coordination among acquisition, logistics, engineering, contracting, finance, and operational stakeholders.
  • Support program and portfolio reviews and other cross-functional activities.
  • Support diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS) and obsolescence management for satellite control and space ground systems.
  • Support product support and integrated logistics activities, including product support strategy development, sparing and supply chain analysis.
  • Provide senior Government leaders with integrated program and portfolio information, executive-level analysis, and decision-quality recommendations addressing cost, schedule, performance, risk, and mission impact.
  • Develop executive summaries, courses of action, trade-space analyses, risk assessments, program reviews, and senior-leader briefings with clearly articulated recommendations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional actions and responses involving higher headquarters, program offices, functional organizations, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Director’s Action Group, including tracking and coordinating higher headquarters taskings through the Task Management Tool (TMT), and support special projects, executive taskings, Program Management Reviews, and financial reviews.
Job Requirements

Experience: 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in program and acquisition management.

Direct experience supporting U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force acquisition programs required, with demonstrated experience supporting complex acquisition activities involving cost, schedule, technical performance, contracting, logistics, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination. Experience supporting Space Systems Command, space weapon systems, satellite command and control, ground systems, or space systems sustainment strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively with senior Government leadership, integrate activities across multiple functional organizations, assess program and portfolio risk, and develop supportable recommendations for complex acquisition and sustainment issues.

Tools / Technical Proficiency

Required. Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency and demonstrated experience with Government acquisition, program management, financial management, and task-management systems. Preferred. PMRT, CCaR, SMART, TMT, SharePoint, Power BI, or comparable Department of the Air Force acquisition and program management tools.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Acquisition, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Operations Research, or a related discipline required. Master's degree preferred. Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Program Management Advanced certification (formerly Level III) or equivalent Department of Defense acquisition experience strongly preferred.

Security Clearance: Active Secret security clearance required. Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligibility preferred.

Location: Colorado Springs, CO; alternate duty location possible with Government concurrence.

Salary information below is a general guide only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as business and market considerations.

Salary Range:$160,000 - $190,000

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role mostly sitting; however, some filing maybe required . This would require the ability to move files, or boxes with file data, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary, ability to lift up to 40lbs.
