Job summary

Primoris Distribution Services is seeking a Gas Distribution Foreman to oversee construction crews from inception to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. You will interpret blueprints, manage schedules, and coordinate with managers and clients on-site.

The role requires 3–5 years in gas distribution construction with supervisory experience, a valid driver’s license, and CDL preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for safe, compliant project execution.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or trade certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years gas distribution construction experience, with 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL Class A or B preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate activities of construction crews, ensuring safety and adherence to plans.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and toolbox talks; promote safety culture.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to plan tasks.
  • Monitor progress; track crew performance and resource usage.
  • Communicate with project managers, engineers, clients, and crew to resolve issues and keep schedules.
  • Train and mentor crew members; ensure compliance with policies.
  • Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment safely.
  • Perform quality control inspections to meet standards.
  • Complete daily reports and timecards accurately and on time.
  • Respond to emergencies and address on-site challenges under pressure.
  • Ensure permits and regulatory requirements are met.

Job Overview:

Job Summary**

Oversee and lead crews for gas distribution construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency from project inception to completion.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned construction crews, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses, promoting a strong safety culture and identifying/mitigating potential risks.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to accurately plan and execute project tasks.
  • Monitor project progress, track crew performance, and ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and crew members to resolve issues and maintain project schedules.
  • Train and mentor crew members, fostering their skill development and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of construction equipment safely and efficiently, including excavators, trenchers, and other heavy machinery.
  • Perform quality control inspections to ensure work meets established standards and specifications.
  • Complete daily reports, timecards, and other necessary documentation accurately and on time.
  • Respond to emergencies and address unexpected challenges on site, making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and regulatory requirements are met for each project.
Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or trade school certification in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in gas distribution construction, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Proven knowledge of gas distribution systems, construction techniques, and relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., DOT, OSHA).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL Class A or B preferred.
  • Ability to operate heavy construction equipment safely and proficiently.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications for reporting and communication.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required by project demands.
