Job summary

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
• Knowledge of basic math including counting and simple arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude and clear communication of information.
• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
• Ensure orders are put up in a timely manner, manage backstock, rotate products and replenish throughout the day.
• Train and develop associates on performance and participate in performance appraisal processes.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions and guiding to products.
• Inform customers of produce specials and offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Maintain merchandising standards; check quality and freshness of products and take appropriate action.
• Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
• Keep department and promotions knowledge up to date for associates.
• Ensure in-stock behaviors, inventory processes, and CAO are understood and followed daily.
• Maintain proper temperatures and temperature logs for cases and coolers.
