Job summary

Charles River in Frederick, MD is seeking an entry-level Primate Technician I to provide daily care for research animals and support health and wellbeing. Training is provided to help you develop foundational skills in a regulated lab setting.

The role involves feeding, cleaning, recording data, and assisting with animal movement within a climate-controlled facility, with PPE and physical duties as required. Starting pay is $19.75 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal care is preferred but training is provided.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow SOPs.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Willingness to work holidays on a rotating basis and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Providing food and water to primates.
• Inspecting feeding and watering devices for proper function.
• Cleaning and sanitizing cages and enclosures.
• Observe animals for health and wellbeing.
• Assisting with movement of animals.
• Log animal care data and maintain records.
• Other duties including restocking supplies.
