Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide individual and group counseling to substance-dependent women, many of whom are survivors of domestic violence. This role requires a dedication to fostering growth and recovery through supportive and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct weekly individual counseling sessions with assigned clients.
Facilitate 3–5 weekly group sessions, ensuring the required content is delivered effectively.
Develop responsive and measurable treatment plans based on client assessments.
Conduct timely treatment plan reviews to monitor progress.
Maintain clear, concise, and timely case records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
Report incidents, abuse, or neglect to the appropriate regulatory agencies as required.
Actively participate in staff meetings, case reviews, and in-service training.
Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure seamless service delivery.
Participate in community planning teams and task forces as needed.
Serve as an advocate for clients and the organization.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Addiction Studies, Psychology, Education, Social Work, Health Education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Certification as CACI or CACII is also acceptable.
Bachelor’s degree with extensive experience may substitute for a Master’s degree.
Experience:
Minimum of two years of counseling experience with substance-dependent persons is preferred.
Required Competencies:
Expertise in individual and group counseling for substance-dependent individuals.
Strong charting/documentation skills.
Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.
Cultural competence and sensitivity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of addiction theory, mental health disorders, women-specific health needs, and family dynamics.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
