Job summary

Atlantic Health Strategies, on behalf of Greater Boston Addiction Centers (GBAC), seeks a Primary Therapist in Needham, MA for full-time, onsite work with a days schedule. You will provide individual and group therapy across outpatient, PHP, and IOP settings while coordinating with families and a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology, and licensure such as LADC/LMHC/LCSW/LICSW is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Licensure preferred: LADC, LMHC, LCSW, or LICSW.
• Knowledge of evidence-based approaches: CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills for co-occurring disorders.
• Understanding of regulatory standards (DPH, Joint Commission preferred).

Responsibilities

Greater Boston Addiction Center is seeking a Primary Therapist to join its Clinical team. This is a full-time, onsite role with a days schedule, supporting individual and group therapy across outpatient, PHP, and IOP levels of care.

What You’ll Do

• Provide individual and group therapy in an outpatient, PHP, or IOP setting


• Complete thorough clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans


• Facilitate structured and engaging group therapy sessions across levels of care


• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system


• Ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations and HIPAA standards


• Manage crisis situations and de-escalation to ensure patient safety


• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team, including coordination with families and external providers


• Support relapse prevention strategies and recovery-oriented care planning


• Manage an assigned caseload with strong organization and follow-through
  

Requirements

What You Bring

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and rapport-building skills with diverse patient populations


• Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple cases


• Cultural competency and ability to work with individuals from varied backgrounds


• Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset in a fast-paced clinical environment

Compensation and Schedule

Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 annually
