Are you a seasoned clinician ready to make a deep impact in the lives of individuals facing mental health and co-occurring challenges? AMFM Healthcare is seeking a Primary Therapist III to join our dedicated and compassionate team. This is a high-impact role at the heart of our mission—providing exceptional, person-centered care in a structured and supportive residential environment.

As a Primary Therapist III, you'll take the lead in developing and guiding the treatment of your clients from admission to discharge. You'll work alongside an interdisciplinary team to set treatment goals, conduct in-depth assessments, deliver individual, group, and family therapy, and ensure the highest quality of clinical care.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct clinical evaluations, biopsychosocial assessments, and diagnostic impressions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (ISP) that are recovery-focused and collaborative
• Provide therapeutic interventions including individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and crisis counseling
• Coordinate ongoing care and referrals as needed to ensure continuity of treatment
• Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups
• Document all services in our Electronic Health Records system
• Communicate with insurance companies for pre-certifications and continued stay reviews
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and case consultations
• Provide supervision services to our resident or supervisee level clinicians
• Be available for on-call responsibilities as needed
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Master’s degree or higher in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field
• Full, unrestricted clinical license in the state of Virginia:
• LMFT, LCSW, or LPC (must be able to provide clinical supervision to residents or supervisees)
• Active registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling or Department of Health Professions
• Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
• Proficiency in facilitating a range of group modalities (psychoeducational, process, DBT, CBT, etc.)
• CPR/First Aid certification and current TB clearance
• Must be able to pass background checks (DBHDS, BIU, VDSS)
• Physical ability to meet basic job demands, including documentation and client interaction
