About the role

The Primary Therapist is a minimum of a Master’s Level Clinician responsible for the individual and family therapy of specific clients, and group therapy for a group of clients. The therapist specializes in working with clients with eating disorders, is mature, flexible, and innovative, and brings a loving, positive attitude to our expert Clinical Team. The Primary Therapist works well with other departments to create a treatment plan for clients.

What you\'ll do
  • Establishes positive, trusting rapport with clients.
  • Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders.
  • Creates and updates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.
  • Meets with patients regularly to provide services and treatment, and to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Coordinates and arranges for services needed for each individual client.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress.
  • Conducts group therapy sessions according to program schedule.
  • Involves and advises family members when appropriate.
  • Refers patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.
  • Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress.
  • Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.
  • Communicates regularly with outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings to consult on individual cases.
  • Attends weekly treatment team meetings to consult with clients about individual progress.
  • Creates weekly individualized therapeutic and experiential opportunities for clients and communicates them to patients.
  • Conduct concurrent insurance reviews for individual clients.
  • Engage in ongoing advocacy work for mental health parity.
  • Engage in community based speaking opportunities to increase eating disorder awareness.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in psychology, social work or related field. Must be fully licensed and can work without supervision.
  • Must have active, unrestrictive, full licensed in Michigan
  • Able to get licensure in other states when asked.
  • Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience treating clients with Eating Disorders.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of models and theories of eating disorders, trauma, mental illness, and related issues.
  • Knowledge of philosophies, practices, policies and outcomes of models of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention, and continuing care for dually diagnosed populations.
  • Understanding of diagnostic criteria for co-occurring conditions and ability to conceptualize modalities and placement criteria within the continuum of care.
  • Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into practice settings.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Employees are required to read, review, prepare and analyze written data and figures, using a computer or similar, and should possess visual acuity.
  • This position answers and places telephone calls as well as video conferences and must be able to converse.
  • Must be able to converse with colleagues via telephone and computer programs.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and navigate applications within a smart-phone, iPhone, MacBook computer and/or tablet.
  • Able to sit for the majority of shifts.
  • Must have reliable internet connection.
  • This is a work-from-home position. Work should be performed in a private, quiet space with minimal background noise.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.

The pay range for this role is:

70,000 - 130,000 USD per year (Remote (Grand Rapids, Michigan, US))
