Job summary

Newport Healthcare in Minnesota seeks a Primary Therapist to conduct assessments, craft personalized treatment plans, and facilitate engaging individual, family, and group therapies. Hours are Monday–Friday, days.

The role requires advanced clinical qualifications and licensure or active licensure pursuit, with experience in youth and young adult therapy, including trauma-informed approaches.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school required.
• MN License in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychologist.
• Non-licensed candidates with Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or closely related field; LPCC pursuit requires demonstration that education meets license coursework requirements.
• Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
• Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Family Communication Champion: Be the go-to clinical contact for families, ensuring proactive and open communication that fosters trust and collaboration.
• Therapy Facilitator Extraordinaire: Lead dynamic individual, family, and group therapy sessions using Newport Healthcare's innovative clinical model and Attachment-Based Family Therapy techniques.
• Crisis Management Specialist: Conduct risk or crisis assessments and provide timely interventions and management as needed, ensuring our clients feel supported and safe.
• Team Player: Join weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision sessions to share insights and collaborate with your colleagues.

Education

Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field

Enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school

MN License in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychologist

Non-licensed candidates with Master's in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field and pursuing LPCC must meet coursework requirements

Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents

Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred

What Makes You a Great Fit

• MN License in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychologist.
• Non-licensed candidates will be considered for a non-exempt role and require a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related therapeutic field is required. If your degree is in a closely related field and you are pursuing an LPCC, you must demonstrate that your education meets the coursework requirements of the license, either through your own comparison or an unofficial review with the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
• Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents
• Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.

Compensation for a licensed therapist ranges from $77,000 - $100,000 depending on education, licensure and experience. Non-licensed therapist compensation ranges from $37-44 an hour.
