Job summary

Northern Virginia Family Service is seeking a Primary Teacher for its Early Childhood Education team in Ashburn, VA. This role focuses on creating a safe and nurturing environment for children ages birth to three, emphasizing their social-emotional growth and school readiness.

Qualified candidates will hold a Current CDA in Infant Toddler Development and preferably an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Key responsibilities include ensuring children's safety and building strong relationships with families.

At NVFS, our Early Head Start (EHS) program supports infants, toddlers, and families during the most critical years of development. Your Background: We understand that you may obtain skills through a variety of professional, personal, educational, and volunteer experiences.

• Current CDA in Infant Toddler Development
• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Oral and written fluency in English; bilingual language skills a plus
• Digital and technical proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills
• Must be able to demonstrate and live the organizational values of Communication, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, and Accountability

Additional requirements:

• Successful completion of background checks, TB test and physical upon hire
• Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules and policy and procedures manuals
• Attendance reliability
• Must be able to lift a child up to 40 pounds

Must be comfortable coming into contact with sick children and taking care of toileting demands of children
