Job summary

Siemens Energy in the United States is seeking a Primary Substation Engineer to help shape the future of energy infrastructure. You will develop project design criteria and prepare main one-line diagrams and auxiliary diagrams for substations.

You will create general arrangement drawings, perform cable ampacity calculations, and develop equipment specifications while collaborating with project teams and customers. Travel ~20% locally and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with a preference for power systems emphasis.
  • At least 5 years of experience in primary electrical design for high voltage substations or FACTS.
  • Fluent proficiency in English, with strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ANSI and IEC standards, as well as NEC regulations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit; Microstation skills are a plus.
  • Flexibility to travel locally and internationally, with approximately 20% travel required.
