Job summary

Atlanta International School (AIS) seeks personable and enthusiastic substitute teachers for grades 3K–5, fluent in English, French, German, Spanish or Chinese. Substitutes are booked on an on‑call basis as needed for half days, full days, and extended schedules throughout the school year.

There is a specific need for substitutes who speak Chinese and German. Ideal candidates will have strong classroom management, hands‑on teaching experience with elementary students, and the ability to teach

Qualifications

• Experience teaching, tutoring and/or working with youth is preferred.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Multilingual abilities including English; Chinese and/or German speakers are especially valued.

Responsibilities

• Serve as substitute teacher for grades 3K–5 on an on‑call basis (half day, full day, extended subbing).
• Follow provided lesson plans and classroom routines while maintaining student engagement.
• Support classroom management and safeguarding practices; provide a positive learning environment.

Position Description

The Primary School is seeking personable and enthusiastic professionals fluent in English, French, German, Spanish or Chinese, to serve as substitute teachers for grades 3K – 5.

Substitutes are booked on an on‑call basis as needed for half day, full day, and extended subbing schedules throughout the school year.

Please note there is a specific need at this time for substitute teachers who speak Chinese and German.

The ideal candidates will have strong classroom management skills, familiarity with hands‑on teaching practices, relevant experience with primary school students, and the ability to teach multiple academic subjects. We provide substitute teachers with as much advance notice as possible, a lesson plan from the classroom teacher, administrative support, and competitive compensation.
