Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, elementary education or reading.
• Certificate license: Meets Maryland state certification requirements in early childhood or elementary education.
• Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a developmentally appropriate balanced literacy program for primary grade students.
• Provide explicit reading instruction and support to small groups (15 or fewer).
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes and maintain appropriate records.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and community.
• Attend school meetings and activities outside the instructional day as required by the MCEA agreement.
