Army National Guard Units in Wisconsin seeks a Primary Prevention Specialist (PREV WF) -T5 to manage the integrated primary prevention program across the region. The role collaborates with military and community partners to advance suicide prevention, workplace and domestic violence initiatives.

The incumbent will develop and oversee health climate programs, resiliency trainings, and community outreach while guiding region leaders and subordinate units in prevention planning and execution.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF) -T5, Position Description Number T0029P01 and is part of the WI JFHQ-J9, Wisconsin Army National Guard.

Key Responsibilities

Serves as the Primary Prevention Integrator (PPI) managing all aspects of a complex integrated primary prevention program (P3) for the assigned Command. Serves as the Regional point of contact for the suicide prevention program, workplace and domestic violence programs in a non-clinical primary prevention role in coordination with applicable offices and community agencies.

Supports inter- and intra-personal violence prevention efforts and programming through the regional leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups. Serves as the Region liaison for local military and civilian agencies to promote timely information exchange, coordinate collaborative prevention efforts, and establish resource links and community partnerships.

Incorporates comprehensive strategies to enhance community strengths, address broad-based community needs, suggest community problem solving methods, and forge community connections. Responsible for developing and overseeing healthy climate, resiliency, risk reduction activities, trainings, and communication campaigns within the Region. Advises commanders in communicating prevention plans and programs to subordinate units.

Responsible for adopting JFHQ's activities and communication campaigns and overseeing the implementation of JFHQ's IPP strategy within local communities. Recruits, trains, and facilitates military volunteers for prevention activity implementation. Provides technical oversight to service members (DSG/M-Day) within the Region who are assigned to perform integrated prevention activities at the Unit level.

Will be required to support assigned unit on some drill weekends (up to 50% of scheduled drills). *** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. ***

Requirements & Education

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.

You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims.
