Primary Lead Teacher in Nashville, Tennessee, US

The Revere Jewish Montessori Preschool in Nashville, Tennessee, is part of the Chabad of Nashville campus, located in the Bellevue area near Warner Parks.

We are nestled on 9 acres overlooking a lush, wooded area. Our outdoor space features a custom playscape, a wooden bird watching structure, a musical stage with drums and chimes, an outdoor painting canvas, and a handmade creek with blue marbled stones flowing into a rock garden. These features inspire children to use their imagination in various ways.

The school operates on an 11-month calendar and is closed during Jewish holidays.

The Primary Lead Teacher serves as the lead in the full-day Primary program. The role involves creating a positive learning environment aligned with Montessori philosophies and curriculum, addressing each child's developmental needs, and preparing students for elementary school. The teacher maintains regular communication with parents, colleagues, and administration.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Lead classroom activities and supervise the Assistant Teacher.
  2. Plan and implement daily activities based on careful observation and individual developmental needs.
  3. Create and maintain a positive, Montessori-guided learning environment.
  4. Ensure curriculum compliance with state requirements, preparing children for elementary education.
  5. Foster a nurturing, calm, and positive atmosphere.
  6. Communicate effectively and frequently with parents.
  7. Collaborate with colleagues and administration.
  8. Meet all state and local supervision requirements.
  9. Maintain accurate records and communicate via the Montessori Brightwheel system.
  10. Ensure the environment is well-equipped and organized.
  11. Train the Assistant Teacher in caring for the environment, materials, and supporting the lead.
  12. Attend scheduled conferences, staff meetings, and other relevant gatherings.
Qualifications and Experience:

The candidate must have experience working with preschool and kindergarten children and hold a Montessori certification from an accredited institution such as AMI, AMS, or IMC. Effective classroom management and communication skills are essential.
