Job summary

Headlands Research is seeking an experienced physician to help grow our clinical research site footprint, with a focus on vaccine trials and expanding access for diverse communities.

The role centers on leading trials, mentoring site staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with sponsors and monitors. Onsite in El Paso, TX with flexible scheduling to accommodate study needs.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO license to practice in Texas.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible.
  • PI/Sub-Investigator experience preferred.
  • Experience with vaccine clinical trials is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee clinical trials conducted at Headlands Research sites, ensuring compliance with protocol requirements, regulatory standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to site staff, fostering a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and professionalism within the research team.
  • Participate in investigator meetings and educational initiatives to stay updated on advancements in clinical research and diversity initiatives.
  • Obtain IRB approval for study initiation and any protocol modifications.
  • Oversee subject safety, trial conduct compliance, and the informed consent process.
  • Communicate effectively with sponsors, monitors, regulators, and research network leadership.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to research staff.

The Role of a Lifetime

We're seeking an experienced physician to help us grow our clinical research site at [[Peninsula Research Associates]] in [[Rolling Hills Estates, CA]], primarily physicians with previous experience serving as a Principal Investigator (PI) on vaccine clinical trials. We are flexible and open to as few as one day per week or as many as 3 days per week schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee clinical trials conducted at Headlands Research sites, ensuring compliance with protocol requirements, regulatory standards, and ethical guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator for clinical research trials a huge plus, but willing to consider those without.
  • Eligible for or active unencumbered license to practice as an MD or DO within the state of Texas required
  • Must be board-certified or board-eligible.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with sponsors, research teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and industry best practices in clinical research.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Type: Part-time
Pay Range: $160/hr *Dependent upon relevant experience, certification, and education.
