Job summary

Royale Therapeutic Residential Center is hiring a Primary Counselor to provide therapeutic support, assess clients, and implement individualized behavioral programs. You will work with an interdisciplinary team under supervision to offer treatment options and help clients manage stress and mental health challenges.

The role requires direct care experience or relevant education, with opportunities for professional development and a focus on person-centered care in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Must have two years direct care work experience in an inpatient or outpatient behavioral setting, or two years of college-level coursework including behavioral health, or a combination of relevant experience and education totaling two years.
• Two years of college coursework in behavioral health is preferred.
• A combination of experience and education totaling two years will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients' needs and conduct individual counseling sessions.
• Conduct group counseling sessions and implement individualized behavioral programs.
• Maintain case notes and monitor client progress.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team under the supervision of the Program Director to offer treatment options and help clients manage stress and mental health challenges.
• Participate in the development of treatment plans.

As a Primary Counselor, you will provide crucial therapeutic support to clients by assessing their needs, conducting individual and group counseling sessions, and implementing individualized behavioral programs. You will work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team under the supervision of the Program Director to offer treatment options, help resolve problems, and assist clients in managing stress, mental health challenges, and other life issues. You will maintain case notes, monitor client progress, and actively participate in the development of treatment plans.

Must Have

• Two years' direct care work experience in an inpatient or outpatient behavioral setting; or
• Two years of college-level coursework including behavioral health; or
• A combination of relevant experience and education totaling two years.

Nice To Have

• Background education in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, or related fields.
