Job summary

The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System's Primary Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Primary Care Physician located at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center. This is an open continuous announcement that will remain open until filled. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.

The physician will provide comprehensive primary care to a panel of patients, perform history and physical examinations, and manage their health using CPRS documentation and established VA protocols.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship required; non-citizens may be appointed only if VA policy permits
• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent in allopathic or osteopathic medicine
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US state or DC
• Residency training approved by VA/ACGME/AOA leading to board eligibility
• PRPs must be licensed physicians and may be appointed intermittently

Responsibilities

• Acts as a Primary Care Physician/Provider for a panel of patients
• Performs history and physical examinations and records data from visits
• Evaluates, consults, develops diagnoses, and manages the primary care panel
• Documents in electronic health records and completes workload documentation
• Orders tests, medications, and labs as needed for patient care
• Coordinates preventive health care per VA guidelines and best practices
• Participates in quality improvement and education loan repayment programs
• Complies with VA policies and credentialing requirements
