Job summary

Johnson Health Center in Lynchburg, VA seeks a Staff Physician to join our patient-centered medical team. You will deliver primary medical care, assess and manage conditions, and supervise PAs/NPs as part of our integrated care model.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an approved residency program in his/her medical specialty.
• License to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtains complete medical history from patient, and/or family, and/or previous medical record, etc.
• Educates the patient and family member on the patient’s diagnoses and treatment options within the scope of knowledge and authority.
• Provides primary medical care by caring for all patients in accordance with the physician's medical specialty.
• Performs complete physical examinations on patients.
• Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team to implement treatment plans.
• Refers patients requiring hospitalization or specialty care to appropriate departments.
