Job summary

Johnson Health Center in Madison Heights, VA is seeking a Staff Physician to provide primary medical care in a team-based setting. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients in accordance with clinic protocols.

You will collaborate with physicians and care teams, perform physical exams, manage chronic conditions, respond to emergencies, and maintain records in compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy.
• Completion of an approved residency program in the medical specialty.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary medical care for patients in line with the physician's specialty.
• Assesses, diagnoses, treats, and monitors patients' health status.
• Performs complete physical examinations on patients.
• Uses evidence-based guidelines for chronic conditions and self-management.
• Diagnoses illnesses based on clinical findings and tests.
• Collaborates with staff to implement treatment plans.
• Refers patients to emergency care or specialists when needed.
• Provides emergency care within scope, including CPR and IV therapy.
• Maintains patient records and complies with standards.
• Attends medical staff meetings and participates in quality initiatives.
