Job summary

Northeast Medical Group, part of Yale New Haven Health System, is seeking a full-time physician in Southington, CT to evaluate patients and manage acute and chronic illnesses. The role involves ordering and interpreting tests, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliant billing practices.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with ABIM-recognized internal medicine or family medicine residency.
• Valid medical license in Connecticut and Board certification.
• Experience in outpatient or hospital-based practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients, and treat acute and chronic illnesses
• Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic tests
• Involves patients and their families in care decisions
• Creates treatment plans and completes orders in patient charts
• Collaborates on improvements in care delivery with staff and management
• Initiates appropriate specialty referrals
• Provides clinical information to the interdisciplinary team in a timely manner
• Ensures proper patient documentation is accurate and complete
• Works with practice management to ensure proper billing and CPT coding
• Achieves and maintains optimal patient access
• Provides interdepartmental medical consultation as requested
• Participates in development of medical protocols and standard procedures
